Public Private Strategies (PPS) seeks a Communications & Program Associate. This role reports to senior leadership and is responsible for shaping and executing events, communications, and marketing projects for over half a dozen dynamic brands at the forefront of the national conversation on issues related to business and policy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute Communications Strategy: This includes creating and delivering press releases, media relations content, case studies, white papers, executive bios, corporate newsletter content, and speaking proposals.
  • Writing: This includes support on content writing, editing and proofreading. We are looking for an exceptional writer and editor who can prepare materials under tight time constraints.
  • Maintain Online Presence: Implement and maintain website design and operation. Manage and coordinate timely content updates on a variety of social media accounts including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and others. 
  • Media Coordination: This includes identifying, developing, and executing communications strategy for key media contacts and customer references. 
  • Support Client Relationships: This includes communicating with internal and external stakeholders, policymakers, small business executives, and members of the public.
  • Event Management: Drafting event templates such as run of shows, invite emails, and slide decks. Scheduling events and coordinating logistics. Managing the backend operations for virtual events. Collaborating with team members to complete project-related tasks. 
  • Coordinating Communications Consultants: Coordinate a team of dedicated communications consultants to craft strategy and execute communications projects. 


Education and Experience Required:

  • 1-2 years in communications and project management and consulting.
  • Passion about small business and workforce-related issues is a plus.
  • Demonstrated familiarity and comfort in using Google Suite, Microsoft Office suite, Zoom, Outlook, Excel, and other forms of customary office equipment or software.
  • Outstanding organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and multitask a variety of projects across issue areas.
  • Experience or background in public relations, political science, communications, journalism, or public opinion research is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in creating and editing news, marketing copy, blog posts or other written forms of communication for a wide audience.
  • Ability to strategically update social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn pages with relevant, shareable content appropriate for each medium; engage daily with followers.
  • Excellent interpersonal and soft skills to interact with a wide variety of professionals
  • Strong writing and problem-solving skills.
  • Outstanding organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and multitask a variety of projects across issue areas.
