Executive Director


The executive director will have both internal and external facing responsibilities, ranging from being the public face of Small Business for America's Future (SBAF) Projects, to program management, mentoring, fundraising, as well as reporting. The executive director will partner closely with the Co-Chairs of SBAF as well as the Small Business Advisory Council to execute the organization's mission and vision of advocacy for small business owners.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Drive Organization Mission, Vision and Strategy
  • Direct staff to ensure that the vision and mission are fulfilled through programs, strategic planning, and community outreach.
  • Review all documents for first round review and editing to ensure the team is putting their best foot forward in every product and assisting the team where needed.
  • Develop a comprehensive suite of programs aligned with SBAF by providing oversight and crafting opportunities aligned with organizations priorities and thrusts.
  • Experience organizing successful policy campaigns and building diverse, successful coalitions.
  • Passionate about SBAF’s vision and mission of advocating for small business owners.

  • Organization Fundraising and Operations
  • Oversee and implement appropriate resources to ensure that the operations of the organization are appropriate.
  • Fundraising to develop and maintain sufficient resources to ensure the financial health and sustainability and growth of the organization.

  • Work with Co-chairs and PPS Partners
  • Ensure that the vision and mission are fulfilled through programs, strategic planning and community outreach with a focus of fulfilling metrics outlined by funders.
  • Connect with members of Congress and attend hearings that are germane to SBAF’s mission and advocacy efforts, in addition to creating opportunities for Co-Chairs to engage members of Congress and the Administration.
  • Lead organizing and strategic planning for co-chair quarterly meetings.


Desired Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field required, advanced degree preferred.
  • At least five years of senior nonprofit management experience in similar roles with increasing responsibility.
  • At least three years of experience managing or supervising other staff.
  • At least three years in organizing and demonstrated experience in small business policy issues.
  • Advanced, demonstrated familiarity and comfort in using Google Suite, Microsoft Office suite, Zoom, Outlook, Excel, and other forms of customary office equipment or software.
